Following up on my previous article, I’d like to talk about the soundtrack of My Hero Academia once again.
In the last article, I introduced 11 of the series’ most iconic tracks—the songs that immediately come to mind when you think of My Hero Academia.
This time, however, I have selected 11 lesser-known tracks that I believe are just as incredible as “You Say Run.”
For this article, I defined “lesser-known” as tracks uploaded to composer Yuki Hayashi’s official YouTube channel that had fewer than 100,000 views as of May 2026.
One quick note before we begin: this article contains major story spoilers.
Since I’ll be discussing the scenes where each track is used, it is best enjoyed after you have finished watching the My Hero Academia anime.
I strongly recommend watching the entire series before reading this article.

1. 脅威との攻防（ The Battle Against the Threat ）
This track is from Season 1.
Chances are, the title alone will not remind you of how it sounds.
It was used during the scene at the U.S.J. where Deku resolved to stand up against the villains, as well as during the obstacle race at the U.A. Sports Festival.
The song begins with a calm and restrained atmosphere, gradually building in intensity before culminating in a grand, heroic melody that feels like a declaration of unwavering resolve.
For a Season 1 track, its serious tone is surprisingly distinctive, and that is exactly what I love about it.
Its only downside is that there are so few arranged versions of it.
2. 英雄的武闘戦闘曲（ Heroic Combat Theme ）
First of all, I have a question.
Where exactly was this track used in the anime?
I have not rewatched My Hero Academia countless times, so this is probably just a gap in my own knowledge, but I genuinely have no idea where this song was played.
That said, it is still a fantastic track. It perfectly matches the bright and energetic atmosphere of Season 2, while the melody around the 0:53 mark suddenly adds a sense of weight and determination. It is exactly the kind of emotional contrast that Yuki Hayashi does so well.
As a fun side note, I once heard this track being played during a sports day event at a local elementary school.
Whoever chose the music had excellent taste.
3. 敵討ち（ Revenger ）
This is the original version of “Revengers.”
That alone should tell you this track is something special.
The music has a dark and serious tone, yet beneath it lies a powerful determination to keep moving forward despite everything. It is a perfect match for a track titled “Revenger.”
If you have already watched the anime, you may actually be more familiar with its arranged version, “Ingenium,” which was used during Tenya Iida’s flashback scenes.
4. 希望の光（ A Ray of Hope ）
This track is from Season 3, but I think the moment where it left the biggest impression was actually its use during the Mirio vs. Overhaul fight in Season 4.
Mirio’s determination combined with this incredible track… there was no way anyone could hold back their tears.
I’m guessing the low view count is probably because many people don’t realize this is actually a Season 3 track.
This song was also rearranged and used again in Season 8 during another emotionally powerful scene.
The arrangement is titled “Part Ways With One For All,” so I highly recommend searching for it and giving it a listen.
5. Weeee Are Fu×kin Super Hero!!
This track is from Season 6, but… was it actually used during Season 6? (Here we go again.)
Since it is the first track on the Season 6 soundtrack, it must have appeared somewhere in the anime… but I honestly cannot remember where.
When I heard it in the first episode of Season 8, I was completely convinced that it was a brand-new song. I immediately checked the Season 8 soundtrack, but it was nowhere to be found.
Then I had a thought: “Could this be an older track?”
So I went back and listened through every soundtrack from Season 1 onward in order, and I finally found it hidden in the Season 6 soundtrack.
(Yes, I know. This might be a little obsessive.)
6. We’ll put a stop to them for sure
This track is from Season 7.
It was used during the scene where Endeavor was overwhelming All For One in battle.
Around the 1:11 mark, the intensity gradually builds, making you think, “This is where the song is about to explode!”
But instead, it transitions into a calm and emotionally powerful melody that hits you right in the heart.
It reminds me a lot of the opening section of “You Say Run,” and that is one of the reasons I love this track so much. It also matched the anime visuals perfectly.
The section starting around 2:20 is another highlight. The melody fits perfectly with Endeavor’s dialogue and creates an incredibly emotional moment.
This song has brought me to tears more times than I can count.
7. Moonlight
This track is from Season 7.
It is a song perfectly suited for the most terrifying and dangerous villain in the series.
The melody that has represented the villains since Season 1’s “暴走する悪意(Runaway malice)” has continued to evolve with each new arrangement as the story progressed, gaining more and more presence and intensity.
And with this track, it has finally reached its ultimate form.
I truly hope more people discover this song and experience the emotional impact behind it.
8. The Story of How We All Became Heroes
For those of you who thought, “Wait… this sounds familiar.”
You are right.
I actually already introduced this track in my previous article, “Top 11 My Hero Academia Soundtracks.”
That means this is the second time I have featured the same song for readers who have already seen my previous article.
I apologize for the repetition.
However, this track absolutely deserves to be introduced again. In fact, please allow me to talk about it one more time.
I simply cannot understand why such an incredible song has so few views.
(Although, I do understand that it is the very last track on the Season 7 soundtrack, so reaching this song requires quite a bit of dedication…)
My goal is to increase its view count by at least 100 views through this article.

9. Overlay
This track is from the Final Season (Season 8).
It was briefly used during Deku Overlay’s first appearance.
Interestingly, this song is actually an arrangement of “みなぎる力(Surging power)” from Season 2.
I completely failed to notice it when I first heard it. I only realized the connection later while searching through various tracks in order to find “Weeee Are Fu×kin Super Hero!!”
I would have loved to see Deku fight Shigaraki with this version of the song playing in the background.
10. Use of force
This track is from the movie ** My Hero Academia: You’re Next **.
It was used during the scene where Giulio and Deku fought together for the first time.
The My Hero Academia-style melody, combined with the harmonica that appears throughout the track, beautifully captures the feeling of Deku and Giulio fighting side by side.
I came across a comment saying that this song is an arrangement of “Jet Set Run,” but I honestly could not figure out which part was based on that melody.
If anyone knows exactly which section it is, please let me know!
11. Top Runner
This track is from the spin-off series ** My Hero Academia: Vigilantes **.
It was used during the scenes where Tenya Iida’s older brother, Tensei Iida, was active as Ingenium.
When the anime adaptation of Vigilantes was announced, I had already read the manga and knew that Tensei Iida would appear. Because of that, I was hoping:
“Could we finally get a new arrangement of ‘Revengers’?! “
And it actually happened.
The melody of “Revengers” itself is already incredible, but the new melody introduced around the 2:27 mark is also extremely beautiful and satisfying to listen to.
As expected, our beloved Yuki Hayashi delivered once again.
Conclusion
From tracks that may have sounded slightly familiar to songs that only the most dedicated My Hero Academia fans have probably heard, I have introduced a wide variety of hidden gems.
For a single animated production, only one or two theme songs are usually created, while dozens of background music tracks are produced—often around 20 to 30 songs.
That is why there are so many incredible yet overlooked pieces of music waiting to be discovered.
From now on, whenever a series you love is adapted into an anime, I hope you will pay attention to the soundtrack as well and enjoy the experience on a deeper level.
Even if official audio is not available on YouTube, many tracks can still be found on Spotify.
